'Spread the word.....Spread the word about how I got a huge piece of glass stuck in my freakin Paw-OW!' Every time I tried to walk on my left paw it only sends out a wave of pain. 'I knew jumping out the window was a bad idea, but I guess I didn't really have a choice. The guy had a shotgun for crying out loud! I guess I can ask Jeff to kill him for me until my paw heals. Holy fuck it hurts!' I hear thunder roar and see lightning strike from the sky. Then it starts to rain. 'Great. Just great.' Just when I think my night couldn't get any worse... "Hey buddy." said a calm and soothing voice. I look up and see a girl wearing a (f/c) hoodie and jeans. She had (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. She's pretty.
She smiled and kneeled down in front of me, looking at my injured paw. "Did you hurt you paw?" she asked. 'No. I just like walking around with a piece of glass in it.' I thought sarcastically. I hate it when humans ask us questions like that. Its like they expect to get an answer. I suddenly felt like I was getting picked up. I felt her arm around my chest and her other arm around my back legs. 'What the hell-' "Don't worry. I'll take care of you" she said as she started walking. 'Well...st least I'll be dry. And hopefully rid of glass.'
I was walking home from the pancake house I worked at when it started raining. I pulled my hood over my head, I didn't mind the rain. I turn the corner and saw dog, it looked like a husky. Its front left paw was in the air and it looked like it was bleeding. I walk up to it and said "Hey buddy." it looked up at me and it was...smiling. A smiling dog, don't see that every day. I kneel down and look at its paw. "Did you hurt your paw?" I asked. I know I'm not gonna get an answer but I asked anyway. I put my arm around its chest and the other on around its hind legs, I lift it up and start carrying it. "Don't worry. I'll take care of you."
Once we got to my place I take the dog up stairs to the bathroom where the first-aid kit was. Lucky for both of us my mom was in Virginia taking care of my sick grandma and my dad was on a business trip. I set him down on the bathroom floor. "Wait here. I'll be right back." I said and ran down stairs into the kitchen. I open the refrigerator and grab a bag of hot dogs. I ran back up stairs and into the bathroom where the dog was sitting right were I left him. I assumed it was a boy and now that he's here I might as well give him a name. I give him a hot dog and pinch the piece of glass between my fingers, and pull it out. He yelped so I feed him another hot dog to help take his mind off the pain. I grab some bandage wrap out of the first-aid kit and start wrapping it around the wound.
Once that was done I grab a towel and start drying him. A few minutes later he seemed to be ok. "There you go. All better." I try to think of what to call him. "I think I'll call you....Smile." His ears perked up, like he was surprised. I go to my room and Smile was right behind me. I climb onto my bed and Smile put is head on it and looked at me with big blue eyes. I pat the bed and he jumps right on. Wasting no time getting comfortable. I grab the TV remote on my nightstand and turn on the TV.
I love animals. Especially dogs, but sadly my moms hatred for animals prevents me from getting any kind of pet. I can't even have a gold fish. I've tried sneaking in stray dogs, but my mom always ends up finding them. My dad once helped me hide a dog in the garage, but she found out about that on too. I don't know how long it would be before she comes back from Virginia, but until then I might as well enjoy having a dog while I still can.
This girl is pretty nice. She fed me, helped with my wound, and she's even letting my on the bed. Plus she didn't get freaked out when she saw me. Even when I look like a normal dog people still get freaked out because of my 'totally human smile'. But she didn't. She's....different. I think I might like her.
