Smiles mean Love Smile Dog X Reader Pt.2

Smile's POV

I woke up the next day only to find myself alone. 'I wonder who this girl is. I don't even know her name yet.' I jumped off the bed making sure I didn't land on my paw. I looked at the bandages and saw the blood beginning to bleed through. It still stung, but not as much. I saw that the door was open just a crack. I push it open and enter the hallway. Once I did I smelled something delicious, it made my mouth water.

I went downstairs and followed the smell into the kitchen. There I saw the girl cooking something. I couldn't see what it was but I sure could smell it. "Hey Smile. Are ya hungry" she asked in a cheerful tone. 'Now that I think about it. I'm starving.' I bark to give her answer. "I'll take that as a yes." she said as she put whatever was in the pan on a plate, and lowered it to the ground. "Here you go." she said. 'Bacon? I haven't had bacon in a long time!' I thought as I chowed down on the meaty strips.


~after breakfast~

I followed her upstairs into the bathroom. "Ok time to change those bandages." she said. She grabbed my paw and undid the bandage wrap, only to see my wound had completely healed. Her eyes widen, there wasn't even a scar, it was like nothing had happened to me. 'Oh boy now she's gonna freak.' "Wow, your a fast healer." she said in that same cheerful voice. 'She....didn't freak out? Not even from that? Maybe...she really is...different.' My tail starts to wag back and forth as I feel a warm sensation run through my body. I was...happy. Really happy.

I hear the front door open and close and a male voice call out..."(Name) I'm home." '(Name). Is that her name? And whose the guy calling her?' "Dad's home!" she said. "(Name) are you up there?" he asked. "Yeah dad I'm here." she replied. "Did you find anymore stray dogs?" "Just one." "Ok, you can keep it until your mother gets home, then its off to the shelter." "I know dad."  She started to pet me and my tail started wagging again.

Your POV

At least dad lets me have a pet. Why does mom hate animals so much? I decide to go downstairs and see if I can get dad to tell me this time. Every time I ask him he always avoids answering me. Well I'm not giving up until he gives me an answer. "Hey dad." I said as I walked up and gave him a hug. "Hey sweetie, how've you been?" "Good." "Is that it?" he asked looking at Smile. "Yup. I called him Smile." "I can see why. I've never seen a dog with a smile like that." "Well that only makes him more unique. Hey dad, why does mom hate animals so much? Is she allergic or something?"

"Well (Name) you've asked me over and over, I might as well just tell you. Your mother hates animals because many of her family members have been attacked by animals. Especially dogs. Which is why she won't have animals in the house. Now I understand if you want a pet. I grew up having all kinds of pets, but your mother comes first honey. I'm afraid that's the way things are."

I looked down to the ground. "It's not fair. I just want a dog, that's it." I felt Smile scratch my leg. I looked at him and he looked at me with his big blue eyes. I kneel down and start petting him. "Don't worry." I whisper. "I won't let you end up in the pound."
