~About 2 weeks later~

Your POV

After my mom died, things were pretty quiet back at home. A few days after her funeral my dad had to go out on another business trip and wouldn't be back until next month. With my mom gone and my dad away from home the only one who's there to comfort me is Smile, but sometimes he's gone all night and doesn't come back until the next the morning. My job at the café was only part time, so if I wasn't at work or at home, I was at school.

Today went by pretty fast. Before I could exit the building I heard someone calling me. "Hey (Name). Wait up." I turn around and see a familiar face that everyone knew run towards me.'What does he want?' I think to myself.


The guy coming towards me in Ryan. One of the 'popular' boys. He stops in front of my and pants a little. "Yeah?" I asked. "Hey, I was wondering if maybe I could...walk you home?" he asked me. 'He wants to walk me home? Him?' I wasn't sure how to react. "Sure, I guess." I say. "Cool."

We walk out the building and I see Smile in his dog form sitting by a tree. He runs over to us and looks at Ryan. "This your dog?" he asked. "Yeah?" "Pretty cool dog. Does he bite?" "No."

Smile's POV

'Who's this fucker?' I think as I see (Name) walk out with some guy walking right next to her. 'Don't get jealous. Don't get jealous. Don't get jealous. Aw fuck it!' I run over to them and stare right the guy. "This your dog?" he asked. "Yeah" (Name) replied. "Cool dog. Does he bite?" "No." *Bark!* That definitely caught them by surprise. "Loud bark." he said. 'Not as worse as my bite.' "Relax Smile, he's just a friend." she said. 'For his sake he better be thinking the same thing.' We start walking and so far all they've done is small talk.

~Time skip to (Name)'s house~

"Thanks for walking me home." (Name) said. "No problem, I guess I'll see you tomorrow maybe?" "Maybe." "Ok well, bye (Name), bye Smile." he said rubbing my head. 'Don't push it.' Once me and (Name) were inside I changed back into my human form. "Did you really have to bark at him?" (Name) asked. "What? It was a warning." She just smiled and rolled her eyes at me. "So who was that guy anyway." "He's just a guy from school." she said. "He's not a friend?" "Well I guess he is now. He's never really talked to me before." "So why is he talking to you now?" "I don't know." she said sitting down on the couch. I sat next to her and put my arm around her shoulder. I laid her head on my shoulder and started giggling. "What's so funny?" I asked. "Oh nothing, its just...your pretty cute when your jealous." "Jealous? Why would I be jealous?" She just kept giggling. "You're so adorable Smile."
